September 27, 2019 Kimberly Nelson, President of Global Impact Industries worked on
the Steering Committee to help achieve The Park Church vision to launch the R400
conference at The Park Expo Conference Center. The Transatlantic Slave Trade
happened 400 years ago and the purpose of the conference was to Reconnect,
Reconcile, Reclaim, and Rebuild a better future for generations to come considering our
ancestors who were held captive from their homeland to the United States. Kimberly
played a pivotal role bridging the connection between Bishop Claude Alexander who
was a key stakeholder of over 225,000 GSF of space and the Permanent
Representative to the United States to the African Union Ambassador Arikana
Chihombori Quao to see the project launch after hosting over 10 African Union
Ambassadors to the United States met at the Park Expo and conducted site visits to
help see the potential opportunities to developing an international trade hub in the heart
of the largest diverse corridor located in East Charlotte, NC. The three-day summit
hosted workshops with industry experts in policy, education, environment, healthcare,
and economics. Global Impact Industries Consortium gained an influential Advisory
Board Global Market Leader Wangu “Connie” Bryant from Kenya to help lead on the
ground local business development and government coordinated strategies to advance
education and economic development opportunities between U.S. and Kenya.
